Before Endodontic Treatment
The root canal procedure will be performed using local anesthesia. There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work, unless the procedure was performed under IV sedation. Dr. Fleischman is always available to contact should a problem arise after your treatment.
You should continue ALL of your current medications as recommended by your physician. If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.
Please eat a full breakfast or lunch the day of your appointment
If you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic premedication because of mitral valve prolapse (MVP), heart murmur, hip, knee, cardiac or other prosthesis, or if you have rheumatic heart disease, please make sure you are on the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment. If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.
Taking Ibuprofen or Aleve will help reduce inflammation pre-operatively. However, if you’re scheduled for an evaluation, we ask that you refrain from taking any pain relief medication during the six hours prior to your appointment, if possible. Pain relief medications can mask symptoms, and thus may affect diagnostic testing results and an accurate diagnosis
